Product Details
A complete engineered canopy system designed to create a sheltered outdoor space with protection from rain and sun.
The AEMYR Waterproof Tensile Garden Canopy combines a sculptural architectural membrane with four galvanised steel posts and stainless steel rigging, supplied together as one engineered system.
Made from Serge Ferrari Flexlight 6002, the waterproof canopy creates a substantial covered area while retaining the openness and connection to the landscape that defines outdoor living.
It is particularly suited to private gardens, terraces, outdoor dining areas, hotels, restaurants, rural accommodation and hospitality settings where extending the usefulness of an outdoor space beyond warm, dry days can make a significant difference.
Designed to the LC60 standard, the complete structure is suitable for sustained wind speeds of up to 60 mph when correctly installed with foundations appropriate to the site.
Made to order in West Sussex.
Available in two standard sizes:
-
4 × 4 m
-
5 × 5 m
And two standard fabric finishes:
-
Vanilla Translucent

Extend the life of an outdoor space
A well-designed canopy changes the way an outdoor area can be used.
By providing reliable overhead protection from rain as well as strong sun, the Waterproof Tensile Garden Canopy creates a more dependable place for dining, gathering, relaxing or welcoming guests outdoors.
For private gardens, it can turn a terrace or seating area into a space that remains useful through changing weather.
For hospitality and accommodation settings, it can protect valuable outdoor areas that would otherwise become difficult to use whenever conditions change.
The result is shelter without creating a conventional enclosed extension, retaining views, fresh air and the feeling of being outdoors.
Architectural waterproof protection
At the centre of the system is Serge Ferrari Flexlight 6002, an architectural membrane developed for long-term outdoor structures.
The fabric is waterproof and has a tested water-column resistance of more than 10 metres, providing a clearly documented level of weather protection for permanent outdoor applications.
Its surface has a subtle grained texture and matt appearance that gives the membrane a softer, more natural quality than a highly reflective technical fabric.
This makes it particularly well suited to gardens, landscape-led projects and hospitality settings where the canopy needs to sit comfortably alongside the surrounding architecture and planting.
Vanilla Translucent or Vanilla Opaque
Vanilla is offered as the standard AEMYR colour in two distinct finishes.
Vanilla Translucent
Vanilla Translucent allows natural daylight to filter through the canopy, creating a lighter quality beneath the structure while maintaining full waterproof protection.
It works particularly well where the aim is to introduce shelter without making the space beneath feel visually heavy or enclosed.
Vanilla Opaque
Vanilla Opaque creates a more solid overhead surface and a stronger sense of shelter.
The finish gives the canopy greater visual presence and works particularly well where a more defined covered space is wanted.
Both versions retain the understated warm neutral tone of Vanilla, allowing the structure to work comfortably with stone, timber, brick, planting and contemporary exterior finishes.
Material quality and performance
Flexlight 6002 is designed as an architectural membrane rather than a temporary outdoor covering.
Its high-strength textile construction combines tensile performance with exceptional durability, allowing the material to form the complex curves required by tensioned canopy structures.
The membrane is phthalate free and carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, providing independent assurance around low chemical emissions.
For a structure designed to remain in the landscape for years rather than a season, these documented material credentials provide greater transparency over what is being installed as well as how it performs.
Designed for easier outdoor maintenance
Trees, planting and changing seasons are part of the appeal of an outdoor canopy, but they also expose its surface to leaves, sap and general environmental dirt.
Flexlight 6002 incorporates a PVDF surface varnish designed to make the membrane easier to clean.
The combination of its smooth protective finish, waterproof construction and durable architectural membrane makes it particularly appropriate for long-term outdoor installations where the structure becomes part of the property rather than something removed after summer.
Fire performance
Flexlight 6002 is manufactured as a fire-retardant architectural membrane with independently tested fire-performance classifications.
Its European classification is Euroclass B-s2,d0, alongside a wider range of recognised international fire test standards.
This documented fire performance gives the material a clear specification for use across private, hospitality, leisure and commercial environments.
Where cooking equipment, outdoor heaters or open-flame appliances form part of the wider setting, their positioning and required clearances should be considered as part of the overall canopy layout.
Engineered for exposed locations
The canopy, posts and rigging are designed as one structural system.
The LC60 specification is designed for sustained wind speeds of up to 60 mph when correctly installed with foundations appropriate to the site.
This makes the canopy particularly relevant where exposure is an important part of the project, including open gardens, rural properties, campsites, farm stays, lodges and hospitality settings.
The complete system is also engineered for snow loading of up to 300 mm, subject to correct installation and suitable foundations.
Final structural performance depends on the complete installation, including ground conditions, foundation design, post positioning and ongoing maintenance.
Sculptural hypar form
The waterproof membrane is tensioned between alternating high and low fixing points to create a double-curved hypar form.
The geometry gives the canopy its distinctive architectural profile while maintaining the tension required across the waterproof membrane.
Different post lengths are supplied within each system to establish the variation in fixing heights.
The resulting structure provides practical weather protection while introducing a strong architectural element to the outdoor space.

Delivery and lead time
Each canopy system is made to order in West Sussex.
Typical production lead time is approximately four to five weeks, with timing confirmed when the order is placed.
Specialist delivery is arranged according to canopy size, postcode and site access.
Foundations and installation
Correct foundations are fundamental to the structural performance of a tensile canopy.
Ground conditions, foundation design, post positioning, fixing heights and drainage around the installation all need to work together as part of the finished structure.
Foundations, groundworks and installation are therefore specified separately rather than included within the standard displayed price.
Installation can be quoted following review of the site, location and project requirements.
Bespoke tensile canopy projects
The 4 × 4 m and 5 × 5 m systems provide two straightforward starting points for many outdoor spaces.
For larger areas, different footprints, alternative colours or more complex sites, bespoke tensile canopy configurations are also available.
The structure can be developed around the architecture, intended use and conditions of the location, with CAD drawings, fabrication, delivery and installation available as part of a separately quoted project.
Product imagery
Images show examples of installed tensile canopy structures and may include bespoke or site-specific projects.
The exact proportions, post positions, installed heights and canopy geometry of the standard 4 × 4 m and 5 × 5 m systems will reflect the selected size, foundation design and conditions of the site.
