What can you create with the Italkero Quadro 40?

Quadro 40 is a compact 40 × 40 cm built-in gas fire insert designed to sit inside a bespoke fireplace or architectural surround. The burner itself stays visually simple, leaving you free to design the material, proportion and setting around the flame.

Is the Quadro 40 a heater or a decorative gas fire?

Italkero classifies the indoor Quadro 40 as a decorative gas fire, rather than a primary room-heating appliance. Its datasheet lists a nominal heat output of 15.5kW, so it produces substantial warmth, but it should be specified first for flame and atmosphere rather than as the building’s main heat source.

How controllable is the flame?

The supplied infrared remote lets you ignite the fire and raise or lower the flame. The remote should be pointed directly at the receiver from within 3 metres.

What kind of fireplace can the Quadro 40 be built into?

It is made for bespoke built-in installations, so the surrounding fireplace can be designed around the 40cm square burner. The enclosure, ventilation, hood and flue still need to follow Italkero’s installation requirements.

Does the indoor Quadro 40 need a chimney or flue?

Yes. The indoor version is an open-flame Type B appliance and requires proper combustion-fume extraction. Italkero allows an existing or new vertical flue with at least 2m vertical development; horizontal routes require specialist mechanical extraction.

Does the Quadro 40 need mains electricity?

No. It can operate from four AA batteries, so a mains connection is not essential. An optional 230V power supply can be specified if preferred.

Should I choose Natural Gas or LPG?

Quadro 40 can be specified for either. The correct gas type needs to be selected for the installation and the gas connection must be carried out by qualified personnel.

Can I choose logs or pebbles around the flame?

Yes. Italkero offers the Quadro 40 with either a log set or pebbles, allowing the finished fireplace to feel more traditional or more minimal.

What ventilation and safety space does the indoor Quadro 40 need?

Because it draws combustion air from the room, permanent ventilation is required. Italkero specifies an external air opening of at least 100cm², alongside the required installation clearances and flue design.

What is the difference between Quadro 40 Indoor and Outdoor?

The flame format is similar, but the installations are not interchangeable. Indoor Quadro 40 requires room ventilation and combustion-fume extraction; Outdoor Quadro 40 is engineered for outdoor or highly ventilated settings and has its own weather and clearance requirements.
